The Emotional Side of Kevin McKidd That Will Make Your Heart Melt!

Over the past one decade, Kevin McKidd has gone from being a Scottish actor no one knew about, to a household name that we cannot imagine our television screens without. Even though his roles in shows like Journeyman and Rome earned him critical appeal, it was his most recent stint as Dr. Owen Hunt on the hit sitcom, Grey’s Anatomy that earned him a spot in mainstream entertainment.

The role has had a powerful impact on Kevin’s life, and has brought about some major changes in his personal as well as professional life. Not only did he earn himself some coveted accolades for his stellar performance on the show, but he also discovered a side of himself that he never knew about before.

Kevin reveals that playing the role of a doctor on the show made him realize how important the role played by real-life doctors in the society is. That inspired him to support the ‘P3 Project’, which is a charity run by one of his friends.

Kevin reveals that the charity is responsible for sending trained doctors to Africa and South America, who train interns in these regions about advanced treatment options for children.

As you watch the actor on Journeyman, it is difficult to imagine that the stern character we see on our screens can have such a soft and emotional side to him off the screen. You can secure a Journeyman download right away to watch the actor in his role as Dan Vasser on the show.

Kevin appears to be a thorough family man in his real life. He met his wife, Jane Parker, long before he shot to stardom, and is the father of two beautiful children, Joseph and Iona. Kevin reveals that he wishes to keep his children rooted to their ancestral legacy, which is why he ensures that they visit Scotland at least twice every year.

He jokes that he wishes for his son to become a plumber like his father, and earn some ‘real money’. LOL!

Journeyman was a Risk That Kevin McKidd is Proud of!

Every single day of our lives is packed with decisions, which decide the fate of our future.

In an actor’s life, these decisions revolve around the choice of roles in various projects.

While some of these decisions may go on to make these stars superstars, others may serve as a death knell to their careers.

Kevin McKidd was faced with this ubiquitous dilemma, when he had finished filming for a hit BBC series, and was in search of a new project.

Despite the numerous offers coming his way, Kevin couldn’t quite find that one role that made him put his entire heart and soul into it.

However, the script of ‘Journeyman’ changed all that, and Kevin was ready to sign up for the role instantly!

The actor admits that he knew that he was taking a risk, but taking chances is something that he loves doing in life, which is why he fearlessly took the plunge.

Even though the decision might not have proved commercially successful for Kevin, with the series having gone off-air after its first season, he definitely had a worthwhile time on the show, as an actor, and took with him, an experience that he would cherish for a lifetime.

To put it in his own words, if he had to spend entire nights filming on the sets of a show, then the cast and crew of ‘Journeyman’ were the people he wanted to do it with.

Talking of Kevin Falls and Alex Graves, the actor says that both these men are ‘beautiful people’, and he had great fun with them around.

Even though the actor had to play a particularly challenging role on the show as a time traveler, he says that he did not have to undergo any intensive preparation for the role.

Having journalists on the show’s writers’ team helped Kevin in understanding the nuances of the profession, which was a part of his role.

As for switching accents between Scottish and American, the actor says that he faced absolutely no problem in doing that, since imitating accents has been a childhood hobby for him.

You can watch Journeyman online or secure a download of the show, to witness this effortless performance by McKidd!

Gretchen Egolf: Not Even Close To Being As Patient As Katie!

On rare occasions, stars fit so perfectly into a role that it becomes impossible to dissociate their real life personas from the characters they portray.

That’s when we say that they seem to have been born to play that role!

For the scrawny beauty Gretchen Egolf, that role came with her portrayal of Katie, a time-traveler’s wife in Journeyman. To see what makes this character stand out, you really should get a Journeyman download, and watch her in the show.

Gretchen seems to fit under the skin of her character so flawlessly that it’s impossible to imagine her being anyone else but Katie. After years of watching her on the show, we had begun to think of Gretchen as a submissive young woman, who wouldn’t mind sacrificing her own identity for the man she loves.

However, ironically, the woman that Gretchen is in reality is a far cry from this image. Still being single and childless, Gretchen lives a no-strings-attached life. She enjoys her independence and cannot even imagine living her life on the terms of anyone else.

That’s why, when she is asked if she could react the same way as the character that she portrays does, Gretchen makes no qualms about saying that she wouldn’t.

She blatantly admits that she feels the only reason behind Katie’s unwavering fidelity is the fact that she has children, for whom she has to keep the family together.

But that does not mean that she looks down upon that kind of a relationship. Gretchen says that she truly admires the relationship that Katie and her husband share, and wonders what it must be like to be in a relationship with the same man for more than eight years.

Well, from Gretchen’s comments, it seems that this lady is yet to taste the fruit of true love, as she seems to be a commitment-phobic!

Kevin McKidd Will Be Back As Captain John “Soap” Mac Tavish in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3!

Kevin McKidd has agreed to lend his voice for the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 video game!
Isn’t that the best news ever?

I know!

The 3rd part of the modern warfare series is being developed by Infinity Ward and I have to tell you, I am like the biggest fan of both Kevin and Call of Duty. He is one of the best actors on screen, and the game is one of the best I have played.

Recap Mode activated!

Captain John Mac Tavish a.k.a. Soap, is the main protagonist and debuted in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, as a Sergeant of the Special Air Service. He is a sniper and demolition expert. Armed with gut-wrenching weapons, ready to puncture the intestines of bad guys, I am amazed when I think of him as Dan Vasser from the Journeyman episodes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was a smash hit in the video gaming industry and the game made close to £ 1bn.

And guess what?

Kevin McKidd made just £ 920!

Can you believe that?

I couldn’t, but the Scot star claims that it was just a voice-over gig. He had no idea that his stint as Captain John “Soap” Mac Tavish would fetch him so many diehard fans.

Recap Mode deactivated!

I cannot wait to lay my hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and kill some bad guys.

By the way, did you know that Kevin McKidd has lent his voice to Jezz Torrent of Grand Theft Auto: Vice city as well?

Dude! You never fail to impress me!

I am waiting for 8th November, 2011, when I will get to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and rip the hell out of the bad guys.

Hell yeah!

Moon Bloodgood is a Die-Hard Sci-Fi Lover!

Moon Bloodgood’s hardcore aficionados must be aware of her crazy love for sci-fi!

The craziness reflects through the projects she takes up.

Journeyman is the biggest proof of her affinity towards science fiction.

So much so, this sci-fi screwball celebrated her engagement by watching ‘The Exorcist’ with her fiancé. I can see you smiling.

Well, that’s how she is!

Another fact that I would like to share with you is that recently, she was offered a role in ‘Falling Skies’.

At first, she refused to do it, since she wanted to break the monotony that the genre had seemed to build around her.

But, the moment she came to know about Steven Spielberg’s association with the show, she just couldn’t say no to it!

She grabbed the role of Dr. Anne Glass in the series.

She became super excited when she saw the aliens from the series.

It was frigging horrific!

For a moment, Moon was awestruck; she just stood there looking at the aliens, releasing intermittent shrieks. Hmm! Well, it was the taste of your own medicine Moon. You have loved horror films all your life, and now you had the nicest thing right in front of you. You ought to like it! (Wink)

Well, I am definitely not trying to enunciate that Moon is afraid or anything like that!

Watch Journeyman online and you will see that the girl has done a brilliant job. (You can download the episodes as well)

And she has done brilliant jobs in the past as well. Look at her memorable role plays in ‘Terminator Salvation’ and ‘Day Break’ and you will get the entire point.

In a nutshell, the way Moon loves sci-fi and horror, it makes it almost obligatory that we love her when she plays such grotesque roles with a perfect finesse.

But there’s more than just an obligation when it comes to Moon, wouldn’t you agree?

Journeyman Saves The Children, Once Again!

Do you have any idea of the one, who has been saving children?

Without any further delay, I want to disclose the name of this benevolent actor. Well, he is none other than Kevin Mckidd, who appeared as Dan Vasser in the hit TV series Journeyman.

Last year, on the World Pneumonia Day, the child rights organization, ‘Save the Children’, appointed Kevin as its official spokesperson. Now, he has teamed up once again with the organization, to make people aware about the plight of people of eastern Africa.

Presently, the eastern area of the country is reeling under drought, and life of millions of people is in danger. Recently, Kevin came forward to put their experience in words.

According to him, nothing is left with the people, who are struck with tragedy, and this is the right time, when organizations like Save the Children can come forward to help people with bare necessities.

He also revealed that the organization has been taking care of medicinal and basic needs of the people in affected regions. Kevin also gave an idea of how children have been living in those areas. They have to walk for some 50-60 miles on mud-drenched areas for water, with younger ones on their backs.

After explaining their conditions, Kevin appealed to everyone to come forward for the cause. Currently, the help centers of the organization have been providing great help, especially to eastern African kids.

Well, I’m quite impressed with the compassionate actor, who has been helping them enthusiastically.

Till now, we have seen his brilliant acting, always queuing up to watch Journeyman online. But now, we have come to see his humane side, and I must say that I’m quite impressed.

The show is off air, but his fans can download it to catch the enigmatic performance of Kevin.

Well, it’s time to say goodbye, but before that, good luck to Kevin so that he may succeed in his noble mission!

Journeyman Kevin Mckidd’s Holiday Turns Out To Be Unexpectedly Experimental!

I feel it’s not anything new that when a star of a particular show, or movie, goes vacationing, he has to deal with fans, who look up to him for some signature moves. And even though fans didn’t swarm former Journeyman actor Kevin McKidd during his vacation in Israel, he had to play the role of a real doctor!

Needless to mention, that his appearance as a doctor in another TV show, Grey’s Anatomy, brought that unexpected task before him.

Kevin, along with his Grey’s Anatomy co-star, Sarah Drew, was given an opportunity to try their hands at computer-controlled robots that perform surgeries!

I guess both of them had a good time, since they are already exposed to robotic surgeries in the medical drama. Well, it’s somewhat hard to believe that fans admire their stars so much.  And it’s the fanaticism that works in favor of elevating someone’s acting career to an altogether new high.

I don’t have any qualms in saying that Kevin’s appearance in Journeyman is as afresh with fans, as his stint on this medical show. And I usually find somebody opting for Journeyman download to enjoy his acts as jumping jack Dan Vasser, as it makes for an interesting watch.

What surprises me is that Kevin didn’t even say no to go with this doctor stint! Well, that’s what a true actor is!

I just hope to see Kevin McKidd entertaining us as long as he is associated with the world of entertainment. And I don’t think there is any kind of retirement plan on 37-year-old actor’s card!

Kevin McKidd Gets to Become a Doctor for Real!

Journeyman star Kevin McKidd, who also plays the role of a medico in the hit TV series Grey’s Anatomy, got a chance to experience what it takes to become a real life surgeon.

Now you must be wondering if it was ethical to let a person perform, or even imitate a surgery without having some in depth study about the same, right?

Well, it was completely ethical and quite cool too! Read on to know how.

It happened when the actor was holidaying with his co-star Sarah Drew in Israel. The country was in the news recently, for having developed robots to assist doctors. And in a state-of-the-art centre at Jerusalem, Kevin and Sarah were granted access to these robots.

The duo got to handle these robots, the way surgeons actually do. Getting to do in reality what you do on-screen, is something that a very few actors experience. Kevin must be on cloud nine to be one such actor! And he did it with precision too!

To see how Kevin does justice to his role, get started with the Journeyman download and you’d know what an incredible actor he is.

Watch the actor in Journeyman, the engrossing sci-fi drama, and you’d agree with me when I rant about his mind-blowing versatility.

As for his recent doctor stint with robots, we are waiting for him to make his comments about this experience public.
Till then, adios!
