What’s So Special About The Jumping Jack Of Journeyman?

It’s a fact that NBC’s sci-fi series, Journeyman couldn’t manage a successful run on TV.
But there was something special about the series that still compels most of the fans to talk about it.

Any guesses?

Well, if you are unable to figure it out, then let me tell you that it was the unique jump of the protagonist, Dan Vasser.

Those who have watched the show must be aware of the fact that Dan’s jumps were no ordinary ones.

The leaps used to enable him to travel backward in time!
I must say that creator Kevin Falls, has conceptualized a personalized mode of what we usually get to see in the case of a time machine.

I really liked the way in which that idea was interwoven into the story arc of each episode.
More than anything else, the series of jumps would bring a sea of change in the lives of the destined people.

The plotline of each episode was constituted in such a manner, that Dan would travel back in time and mend the past troubles of the concerned character, making things better in the present/future.

The concept of backward time travelling was also utilized to bring conflicts in the storyline.
During the initial episodes of the show, we got to see how Dan Vasser’s feats used to cause major concern for his wife and son.

The curious case of the jumping jack in Journeyman entertained the sci-fi lovers for 13 incredible episodes, and those are indeed very special, as far as full-on doses of entertainment are concerned.

I feel it would be a kind injustice, if I don’t talk about the actor who played the role of Dan Vasser.

It never seemed that while portraying the character of a newspaper reporter, Dan, actor Kevin McKidd, tried to go for superimposition.

I mean, Kevin strictly followed the script and never tried to be experimental with his role. Control over acting was the demand of the script, as there was the element of transition from present to future.

And the 37-year-old was spot on with his acts!

On the contrary, it can be said that the Kevin’s stupendous performance held the key for the success of the role of the mysterious jumping Jack in Journeyman!
